How to use the TeraBox Direct Download Link
- 1
Paste the share link
Paste the TeraBox share URL into the box above.
- 2
Press Download
The tool reads the share and lists each file.
- 3
Copy or open the direct link
Use the Download button, or copy its address into your download manager.
A TeraBox share link opens a web page. A direct download link points straight at the file, so the download begins as soon as you open it. Direct links are useful for download managers, for command-line tools on your own computer, and for starting downloads on another device without going through the TeraBox page.
How the direct link works
When you paste a share link, the tool asks TeraBox for the public details of that share: names, sizes and the download address for each file. The Download button next to each file uses that address. On a computer, right-click the button and choose Copy link address to get the direct URL.
Direct links expire, and that's normal
TeraBox download addresses are temporary. They usually work for a limited time, often a few hours, and may be tied to your connection. That protects the owner's files and is why you shouldn't post a direct link publicly or bookmark it for later. When one stops working, paste the original share link again to get a fresh one. The share link is the long-lived one. The direct link is for downloading now.
Using a download manager
Download managers can speed up large downloads and resume after interruptions:
- Generate the direct link here.
- Copy the link address from the Download button.
- Add it as a new download in your manager, such as the browser's built-in manager, Free Download Manager or another trusted app.
- Start the download right away, before the link expires.
If the manager gets an error page instead of the file, the link may have expired, or the manager may need the same browser it was copied from. Starting the download in the browser is the most reliable option. More PC tips are in the download TeraBox on PC guide and on the TeraBox downloader for PC page.
Direct link for each file in a folder
For a folder share, every file gets its own download button and its own direct link. There's no single direct link for a whole folder, because TeraBox serves files one by one. See the TeraBox folder downloader for handling many files.
Responsible use
Direct links make downloading easier. They don't change who owns the content. Don't use them to redistribute files you don't have rights to, and don't embed them on other websites.
Direct link vs share link at a glance
- Share link: starts with a TeraBox domain and /s/. It's long-lived and safe to send to people. It opens a page with file information.
- Direct link: points at a download server. It's temporary, it starts the file transfer right away, and it's meant only for you, right now.
When in doubt, keep and share the share link, and generate a fresh direct link whenever you need to download.
Downloading on another device
A common use is to start a download on a computer that's better suited to big files. Open this page on that computer and paste the share link there, rather than copying a direct link between devices. Because direct links can be tied to the connection that requested them, generating the link on the device that downloads is the most reliable approach.
Troubleshooting direct links
If the link opens a page with an error code, it has expired or was used from a different network. If the download starts but stops at 0 bytes, the server rejected the request. Paste the share link again. If the file name looks wrong, the browser may have guessed it. Rename the file after downloading and keep the original extension.
