How to use the TeraBox to MP4
- 1
Paste the video link
Paste the TeraBox video link into the box above.
- 2
Check the file type
Look at the file name. If it ends in .mp4, it's ready.
- 3
Download, then convert if needed
Download the file. If it isn't MP4, convert it with VLC or HandBrake.
Most videos on TeraBox are already MP4 files, so "converting" usually just means downloading the original. This tool page is the quick route: paste, check, save. For the detailed walkthrough with converter settings, read TeraBox to MP4: how to save TeraBox videos as MP4.
Is your video already MP4?
After you paste a link, look at the file names in the list:
- .mp4: download it. It plays on Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac and most TVs.
- .mkv: a container that often holds H.264 or HEVC video. It plays in VLC, but often not in phone galleries.
- .mov: common from iPhones. It usually plays on Apple devices and in VLC.
- .avi, .flv, .wmv: older formats, worth converting to MP4.
- .ts or .m3u8: streaming formats, which convert cleanly to MP4.
Converting a non-MP4 file
With VLC (free, Windows, Mac, Linux): open Media > Convert/Save, add the file, pick the profile "Video – H.264 + MP3 (MP4)", choose a destination ending in .mp4, and start.
With HandBrake (free): open the file, choose the "Fast 1080p30" preset, make sure the format is MP4, then click Start Encode. HandBrake gives smaller files with good quality.
On a phone: a trusted video converter app from the official app store works, but desktop tools are faster and don't add watermarks.
If you only want to watch, you may not need to convert at all. The TeraBox player online streams MP4 and WebM straight in the browser.
Keep the quality
Converting always re-encodes the video, which can lose quality. To keep it high:
- Keep the original resolution, don't downscale.
- Use a constant quality setting (RF 20–22 in HandBrake) instead of a low bitrate.
- Only convert once. Converting again and again makes quality worse.
- Keep the original file until you've checked the MP4.
MP3 from a TeraBox video
If you only need the audio, for example from a lecture, VLC can save the audio track as MP3: choose the "Audio – MP3" profile in Convert/Save.

MP4 on every device
Once you have an MP4, it fits almost anywhere:
- Android: plays in the gallery and in Google Photos.
- iPhone: save it to Photos from the Files app.
- Windows: plays in Media Player and Movies & TV.
- Mac: plays in QuickTime and imports into iMovie.
- Smart TV: copy it to a USB stick. Most TVs play H.264 MP4 files from USB.
- Editing apps: CapCut, Premiere, DaVinci Resolve and iMovie all accept MP4.
Making the file smaller
If the MP4 is too big to send by message or email, HandBrake can shrink it. Lower the resolution to 720p, use RF 24–26, and keep the frame rate the same as the source. A one-hour lecture often goes from several gigabytes to a few hundred megabytes with little visible loss. For sharing, upload the smaller file to your own cloud and send a link instead of an attachment.
