Searches for "TeraBox downloader for PC" are very common, and many people think they need to install the TeraBox desktop app. You don't. Any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS can download public TeraBox share links. This guide explains how, with tips for very large files.

Why not just install the desktop app?

The official app is useful if you manage your own TeraBox storage every day. But if you only need files someone shared with you, installing a desktop client means extra background services, more permissions and another account to manage. A browser-based TeraBox downloader is lighter and works on locked-down work or school computers where you can't install software.

What you need

Step-by-step on Windows

  1. Copy the TeraBox link (Ctrl+C).
  2. Open TeraBox Download in Chrome or Edge.
  3. Click the link box and paste (Ctrl+V).
  4. Press Download and wait for the file list.
  5. Click Download next to the file. It saves to your Downloads folder.
  6. Press Ctrl+J to open the browser's downloads list and see progress.

Step-by-step on Mac

  1. Copy the link (Cmd+C).
  2. Open TeraBox Download in Safari or Chrome.
  3. Paste the link (Cmd+V) and press Download.
  4. Click Download on the file you want.
  5. In Safari, click the downloads arrow in the toolbar to follow progress. Files go to the Downloads folder by default.

Downloading very large files

Keep the computer awake On laptops, sleep mode stops downloads. Plug in the charger and set the computer not to sleep while the download runs. On Windows, look under Settings › System › Power; on Mac, use System Settings › Lock Screen or Battery.

Use a wired or strong Wi-Fi connection Big files are sensitive to dropped connections. A cable or a spot close to your router helps.

Using a download manager Download managers can resume interrupted downloads and sometimes split them into parts. To use one, right-click the Download button in our result card, choose "Copy link address" and paste it into the manager. Direct TeraBox links are temporary, so add them right away. If the manager says the link expired, paste the share link into our tool again to get a fresh one.

Opening downloaded files

Videos MP4 files play in the Windows Media Player, Films & TV app or QuickTime on Mac. For MKV or unusual formats, install VLC Media Player, which is free and open source.

Archives Windows can open ZIP files natively. For RAR or 7z files, use 7-Zip on Windows or The Unarchiver on Mac.

Documents PDFs open in any browser. Office documents open in Microsoft Office, LibreOffice or Google Docs.

Watching without downloading

If you only want to watch a video once, press Stream instead. It plays in the browser without saving the file to your disk. Learn more in our TeraBox player online guide.

Browser comparison for TeraBox downloads on PC

Google Chrome It's fast, it can resume some interrupted downloads from the downloads page (Ctrl+J), and it plays MP4 videos well. It's a good default.

Microsoft Edge It's built into Windows and works the same as Chrome. Its efficiency mode can help on older laptops.

Mozilla Firefox It's privacy-friendly, and its download panel is clear. It plays MP4 and WebM.

Safari on Mac It's energy-efficient and supports HEVC videos natively on Apple hardware.

Saving TeraBox videos to an external drive

To keep big collections off your main disk, set your browser to ask where to save each file and choose your USB drive or external SSD. Format large drives as exFAT so they work on both Windows and Mac and accept files bigger than 4 GB.

Checking that a download is complete

Compare the file size in your Downloads folder with the size shown in our result card. If it's smaller, the download was interrupted. Generate a fresh link and download again. For archives, opening the file with 7-Zip will also tell you if it's damaged.

Converting videos on PC

If a video won't play in your default player, install VLC first, which plays almost everything. If you need a true MP4 for editing or for a phone, use the free tool HandBrake. Our TeraBox to MP4 guide walks through it.

Using TeraBox Download on a work computer

Many companies block software installs but allow normal websites. Because our tool runs in the browser, it usually works on work PCs. Respect your company's IT rules, and don't download personal media on networks where that isn't allowed.
