People search for "TeraBox to MP4" when they want a normal video file that plays in their gallery, edits in an app or copies to a TV. In most cases, no converter is needed, because the video is already an MP4. This guide shows how to check, how to download it, and how to convert other formats to MP4 for free when you need to.

Do you need a TeraBox to MP4 converter?

TeraBox stores files exactly as they were uploaded. If the uploader saved an MP4, you'll download an MP4. Many sites that call themselves "TeraBox to MP4 converters" just give you the same file the original download would. Others are full of ads or try to install software. The honest answer is:

Step 1: check the file format

Paste the share link into TeraBox Download and press Download. Each result card shows the file name and a tag with the extension, such as MP4, MKV or MOV. That tells you whether you need to convert.

Step 2: download the MP4

  1. Press Download on the result card.
  2. On Android, the file goes to Download. On iPhone, it goes to Files › Downloads. On PC, it goes to your Downloads folder.
  3. Check that the file size matches the size shown in the card.

On iPhone, tap the file, then Share › Save Video to add it to Photos. On Android, it appears in your gallery automatically within a few minutes.

Step 3 (only if needed): convert to MP4

On Windows, Mac and Linux: HandBrake HandBrake is free and open source. 1. Install HandBrake from its official website. 2. Open the downloaded video. 3. Choose the preset "Fast 1080p30" (or "Fast 720p30" for smaller files). 4. Make sure the format is MP4 and the video codec is H.264. 5. Click Start Encode.

On PC: VLC VLC can convert too: go to Media › Convert/Save, add the file, choose the profile "Video – H.264 + MP3 (MP4)" and start.

On Android Free video converter apps are available on Google Play. Choose one with good reviews that works offline and doesn't upload your video to a server. Pick MP4 (H.264) as the output.

On iPhone Videos you save to Photos are often converted automatically for compatibility. For MKV files, VLC for iOS can play them, and apps such as Shortcuts can convert some formats. A computer with HandBrake gives the most reliable results.

Remuxing vs converting

If an MKV file already contains H.264 video and AAC audio, you can "remux" it into MP4 without re-encoding. That's much faster and loses no quality. Tools like ffmpeg can do this with a command like ffmpeg -i input.mkv -c copy output.mp4. If the file uses HEVC or unusual audio, a full conversion with HandBrake is safer.

Choosing settings

Quality Keep the original resolution if you have space. Use 720p for phones with little storage.

File size H.264 at constant quality RF 20–23 in HandBrake is a good balance.

Compatibility
MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio plays almost everywhere: phones, browsers, smart TVs and editing apps.

Online converters: are they safe?

Online converters upload your file to someone else's server. For private videos, that's a privacy risk, and big files take a long time to upload. Many also add watermarks or limit file size. Converting locally with HandBrake or VLC is faster for large files and keeps your videos private.

Common problems

The converted file has no sound Select AAC audio in your converter's audio settings.

The video is upside down or sideways Some phone recordings store rotation separately. HandBrake usually handles this, and you can also rotate it in its Filters tab.

The MP4 still won't play on my TV Check the TV's supported formats. Some older TVs need 1080p or lower, and H.264 rather than HEVC. More fixes are in TeraBox video not playing.

Streaming instead of converting

If you only want to watch once, you don't need a file at all. Press Stream to use the built-in TeraBox player. For MP4 videos it plays directly in the browser.

Legal note

Converting a file doesn't change who owns it. Only download and convert content you own or have rights to, such as your own recordings or videos someone gave you permission to keep. Don't convert and redistribute films, series or paid courses. Rights holders can reach us through the DMCA page.

Summary

Most TeraBox videos are already MP4: paste the link into TeraBox Download, check the format tag and download. If you get MKV or HEVC, convert it for free with HandBrake or VLC. For more device tips, see downloading on iPhone and Android and on PC.

Which format do you actually have?

Batch converting many files HandBrake has a queue: add all the videos from a downloaded TeraBox folder, choose one preset and click Start Queue. Leave the computer plugged in, because converting is heavy work for the processor.
