Sometimes you don't want to keep a file at all. You just want to watch a clip that a friend shared, check whether a lecture recording is the right one, or preview a long video before spending mobile data on the full download. Streaming is perfect for that, and you can do it in a browser.

How streaming a TeraBox link works

When you paste a share link into TeraBox Download, the tool asks TeraBox for the public details of the file. For video files it also gets a temporary address for the video data. The built-in player then requests the video in small pieces. Because only the parts you watch are loaded, you can start playing almost immediately and jump to any point in the timeline.

Step-by-step

  1. Copy the TeraBox share link.
  2. Open the homepage, paste the link and press Download.
  3. When the file card appears, press Stream.
  4. The player opens. Use the timeline to skip, and the full-screen button for a bigger picture.
  5. Press Close when you're done. Nothing is saved to your device.

Which formats play

Browsers play most MP4 files (H.264 video with AAC audio) everywhere, including iPhone. WebM plays in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. MKV and AVI may play in some desktop browsers but often fail on phones because the browser doesn't support the codec inside. If a video won't stream, download it and open it with a player like VLC, which handles almost any format.

Fixing buffering

Streaming speed depends on TeraBox's servers and your connection. If the video keeps pausing:

Streaming vs downloading

Streaming is best when you want a quick look, have limited storage, or are only watching once. Downloading is better for long videos on slow connections, offline viewing on a plane, or files you want to keep. Our download guide covers the second case.

Data usage

Streaming uses about the same data as the parts of the video you watch. A 10-minute 720p video is usually 100 to 300 MB. If you skip around, you only use data for the segments you play. On a limited plan, check the file size shown on the card before you start.

Privacy

The player runs in your browser and the tool does not keep a history of what you watch. We don't need your TeraBox account, and you never enter a password. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Casting to a TV

On Android with Chrome, use the browser menu and choose "Cast" to mirror the tab to a Chromecast or smart TV. On iPhone, use Screen Mirroring to an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible TV. Downloading the file and playing it from a USB drive is another simple option.

Summary

To stream a TeraBox video online, paste the link into TeraBox Download and press Stream. MP4 files play everywhere, buffering usually clears with a short pause or a fresh link, and nothing is stored on your device.

Getting the best playback quality

Pick a good connection Streaming quality depends mostly on your connection. A stable Wi-Fi network of 10 Mbps or more is enough for smooth 1080p playback. On mobile data, move closer to a window or switch from 3G to 4G or 5G if your phone allows it.

Let the player buffer When you open a long video, wait a few seconds before you start seeking. The player loads a small buffer first, and jumping around too early can cause stutters.

Use a modern browser Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all support the common MP4 (H.264) format used by most TeraBox videos. Keep your browser up to date to get the newest video decoders.

Streaming on different devices

Android phones Open the site in Chrome, paste the link and press Stream. Turn your phone sideways and tap the full-screen button for the best view. Picture-in-picture is available on many Android phones: start the video in full screen and press the home button.

iPhone and iPad Safari plays MP4 videos natively. Tap the video to show controls, then use the full-screen icon. If a video will not start, it may use a codec Safari does not support, such as some MKV files. In that case download it and open it with a player app like VLC.

Laptops and desktops On a computer you can use keyboard shortcuts in most browsers: space to pause, the arrow keys to seek and F for full screen.

When streaming is not available

Some files are not videos, such as ZIP archives, PDFs or documents. These cannot be streamed, so only the download button is shown. Some videos are also too large or use formats browsers cannot decode. Our fix TeraBox download errors guide lists the most common reasons and what to do.

Streaming responsibly

Only stream videos that the owner chose to share with you, or that you have the right to watch. Don't use a TeraBox player to spread copyrighted films, private videos of other people or any illegal content. If you find content that infringes your rights, see our DMCA page.

Quick tips

More questions

Can I stream TeraBox videos without an account?

Yes. Public share links can be streamed in the browser without a TeraBox account. You only need the link, and the owner must not have restricted it with a code you don't have.

Does streaming use less data than downloading?

Only if you don't watch the whole video. Streaming a full video uses about the same data as downloading it, but if you stop halfway you only use the data for the part you watched.

Can I change the video quality?

The player plays the original file, so quality is whatever the owner uploaded. If playback is choppy, pause to buffer or switch to a faster network.
