How to Fix TeraBox Download Errors (Complete Guide)
Try the free TeraBox downloader →
Most TeraBox links work on the first try, but sometimes you get an error, a missing button or a download that stops halfway. Almost every problem falls into a few categories. Here is what each one means and how to fix it.
"Share not found" or "link invalid"
This usually means the link no longer points to a file.
- Check the link. Make sure you copied the whole URL. Chat apps sometimes cut long links or add a full stop at the end.
- The share was deleted or expired. Owners can delete shares or set them to expire. Only the sender can create a new link.
- Wrong format. Supported formats include
/s/1…links and?surl=links on terabox.com, 1024terabox.com, 1024tera.com, teraboxapp.com, terabox.app, terabox.club and other mirrors. A link to the TeraBox homepage or an app store page will not work.
The link asks for a code
Some shares are protected with an extraction code (password). Our tool only reads public shares and cannot bypass a code. Ask the sender to remove it or open it in the official app with the code.
File details show, but no download button
TeraBox sometimes exposes the name and size of a file but limits the direct link for a while, especially for very popular shares. Wait a few minutes and try again. If it keeps happening for one file only, the owner or TeraBox may have restricted it.
Download starts, then fails or stops
- Download links are temporary. If you leave the page open for a long time before pressing Download, paste the link again to get a fresh one.
- Unstable mobile data can interrupt long downloads. Switch to Wi-Fi.
- On a computer, a download manager can resume a broken download instead of starting over.
- Make sure your device has enough free space for the full file.
Downloads are very slow
TeraBox decides how fast its servers send data. Speed often improves outside peak hours. Avoid running several large downloads at the same time, and close other apps that use the network.
The video downloads but won't play
The file is probably in a format your phone doesn't support, such as MKV or HEVC. Install VLC (free on Android and iPhone) and open the file there. See also our streaming guide for format tips.
iPhone: can't find the downloaded file
Safari saves files to the Files app. Open Files, tap Browse, then Downloads. To put a video in Photos, open it in Files, tap Share and choose "Save Video". More details in our mobile guide.
"Too many requests"
If you check many links very quickly, you may be rate limited for a short while. Wait a minute and continue at a normal pace.
Browser problems
- Update your browser to the latest version.
- Disable aggressive ad-block or privacy extensions for the site if buttons don't work.
- Try a private window, or another browser.

Summary
Check the link, remember that only public shares without a code work, refresh the link if it has been open for a while, and use VLC for unusual formats. These steps solve the vast majority of TeraBox download problems on TeraBox Download.
Error checklist by symptom
Nothing happens when I press Download Check that you pasted a complete link. A link copied from a chat app sometimes gets cut off or picks up extra text. It should start with https:// and include /s/ or surl=. Remove spaces at the start or end.
"Unsupported link" The link may be from a domain we don't recognise, or it may not be a TeraBox link at all. We support terabox.com, 1024terabox.com, teraboxapp.com, terabox.app, 1024tera.com, 4funbox.com, mirrobox.com, nephobox.com, momerybox.com, teraboxlink.com, terasharelink.com and more. See TeraBox link formats explained.
The download file has a strange name Some browsers save files with a generic name when the server doesn't send one. Rename the file and keep the original extension (.mp4, .zip, .pdf) so your device knows how to open it.
The downloaded ZIP won't open Make sure the download finished completely by comparing the size with the size shown in the tool. Large archives may need a dedicated app such as 7-Zip on Windows, The Unarchiver on Mac or a file manager with ZIP support on Android.
Fixes that work for most problems
- Reload the page and paste the link again.
- Try a different browser, such as Chrome instead of an in-app browser.
- Switch networks, for example from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
- Turn off VPNs or ad blockers that may block video requests, then try again.
- Wait 10–15 minutes if TeraBox is limiting requests.
- Ask the owner to share the link again if it may have expired.
Network and DNS issues
If our site itself won't load, for example with a "site can't be reached" or DNS_PROBE error, your internet provider's DNS may be slow to update. Switching your phone's Private DNS to one.one.one.one or dns.google often fixes it right away. You can also try another network.
Speed problems
Slow downloads are usually limited by TeraBox's servers, not by your device. Our dedicated guide on why TeraBox downloads are slow covers the reasons and practical tips.
Report a bug

More questions
Why does the same link work for my friend but not for me?
Usually it's a network or DNS difference, a browser extension or a temporary limit. Try another browser, turn off your VPN or ad blocker, or switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data.
How long do direct download links last?
Direct links from TeraBox are temporary and can expire after a few hours or less. If a download fails with an expired link, paste the share link again to get a new one.
Can you recover a deleted TeraBox share?
No. Once the owner deletes the files or cancels the share, nobody can open it, including us. Ask the owner to share the files again.
