How to Download TeraBox Files with IDM, FDM or 1DM (Download Manager Guide)

Published November 2, 2026 · By · 7 min read

Quick answer: Paste the TeraBox share link into a browser-based downloader, copy the file's Download link (or let the IDM extension catch it) and add it to IDM, FDM, 1DM or ADM right away. Links are temporary, so refresh the address with a new one if a download fails later.

Large TeraBox files are where browser downloads tend to fail. A 3 GB video stops at 87% because Wi-Fi blinked, and the browser starts again from zero. A download manager fixes most of that: it can resume a broken download, retry automatically, queue many files and show you the real speed. This guide shows how to use the popular managers with TeraBox share links, step by step, on Windows, Mac and Android, and what to do when the manager gets an error instead of the file.

Everything here applies to public share links or your own files. Only download content you own or have rights to.

Why use a download manager for TeraBox?

A browser is fine for small files. For anything over a few hundred megabytes, a manager has real advantages:

What a manager does not do is make TeraBox's servers send data faster than they allow. Splitting a file into several connections sometimes helps on a slow route, but it is not a "speed hack". If speed is your main problem, read why TeraBox downloads are slow as well.

How the download link works

When you paste a share link into the TeraBox downloader, the tool reads the public share and shows each file with a Download button. The address behind that button is a temporary download link for that one file. Two things matter for download managers:

  1. It supports resuming. The link accepts range requests, which is what a manager uses to continue a partial download.
  2. It expires. Like every TeraBox download address, it only works for a limited time, usually a few hours. Add it to the manager soon after you generate it, and do not save it for next week. The share link is the long-lived one. You can read more in TeraBox link expired.

Because of this, the best workflow is always: paste the share link, get fresh download links, start the manager right away.

Method 1: Internet Download Manager (IDM) on Windows

IDM is the manager most people search for with TeraBox. It integrates with Chrome, Edge and Firefox through its browser extension.

  1. Install IDM and make sure the IDM Integration Module extension is enabled in your browser.
  2. Open the TeraBox link downloader, paste the share link and press Download.
  3. Click the Download button next to the file. With the extension enabled, IDM usually catches the download and opens its dialog automatically.
  4. Choose the folder and press Start Download.

If IDM does not catch it, right-click the Download button, choose Copy link address, then in IDM click Add URL, paste the link and start it.

If a download is interrupted, select it in IDM and press Resume. If IDM says the link has expired or shows a 403 error, go back to the site, paste the share link again, copy the new download address, and use Refresh download address in the download's properties so IDM keeps the part already downloaded.

Method 2: Free Download Manager (Windows, Mac, Linux)

Free Download Manager (FDM) is free, open about its features and works on all desktop systems, which makes it a good choice if you are on a Mac or do not want a paid tool.

  1. Install FDM from its official website and add the browser extension if you want automatic catching.
  2. Paste the TeraBox share link into the downloader and press Download.
  3. Right-click the file's Download button and copy the link address.
  4. In FDM, click the + button, paste the link and confirm the file name and folder.

FDM resumes interrupted downloads by default. Keep the file name and extension shown by the downloader (for example .mp4 or .zip), so the file opens correctly afterwards.

Method 3: 1DM or ADM on Android

On Android, browsers sometimes pause downloads when the screen turns off or when you switch apps. Download manager apps such as 1DM and ADM (Advanced Download Manager) keep going in the background.

  1. Install the manager from Google Play only. Avoid "mod" or "pro unlocked" APKs from other sites. Our TeraBox APK guide explains why unofficial APKs are risky.
  2. Open Chrome, paste the share link into the TeraBox video downloader and tap Download.
  3. Long-press the file's Download button and choose Copy link address.
  4. Open 1DM or ADM, add a new download, paste the link and start it.

Some managers include their own browser. You can open teraboxdownload.com inside it and tap Download there, and the manager will catch the file directly. Either way, keep your phone on Wi-Fi for large files and allow the app to run in the background in battery settings, otherwise Android may stop it.

iPhone and iPad

iOS does not allow classic download managers to work in the background the same way. Safari's built-in downloads are the most reliable option: tap Download, then find the file in Files › Downloads. Keep Safari open and the screen on for very large files. Step-by-step help is in our guide to the TeraBox downloader for iPhone.

Downloading a whole folder with a queue

Folder shares are where managers save the most time. After you paste a folder link, the downloader lists every file with its own Download button. There is no single link for the whole folder, because TeraBox serves files one by one.

  1. Paste the folder link and wait for the full list.
  2. Copy the link of each file you need into the manager. IDM and FDM let you add several URLs at once.
  3. Set the queue to download one or two files at a time. Running many parallel downloads from the same share is more likely to trigger temporary limits.
  4. Start the queue soon, because the links expire.

Troubleshooting

The manager downloads a tiny HTML file instead of the video

The link has expired, or the manager received an error page. Paste the share link again to get a fresh link and add it right away. Check that you copied the Download button's address, not the address of the page.

403 Forbidden or "link expired"

Download addresses are temporary and can be tied to the connection that requested them. Generate the link on the same device and network that will download, and avoid switching VPNs in the middle of a download. Then refresh the address in the manager.

The download is stuck at 0%

Try a single connection instead of many, pause and resume once, or start the download in the browser to check whether the file itself works. If the browser also fails, the share may be private, removed or temporarily limited. Our TeraBox download errors guide lists every common cause.

The finished file will not open

Make sure the extension is right (.mp4, .mkv, .zip and so on). If a video will not play, try VLC, or see TeraBox video not playing.

The browser extension does not catch the download

Copy the link manually and use Add URL. Some browser updates disable extensions until you re-enable them.

Is it safe?

Well-known managers installed from their official sites or official app stores are safe to use. Avoid "TeraBox premium downloader" programs that ask for your TeraBox password, and never install cracked versions of paid managers, which are a common way to spread malware. Our tool does not need your TeraBox login for public links.

Quick summary

  1. Paste the TeraBox share link into the downloader.
  2. Copy the file's Download link (or let the extension catch it).
  3. Add it to IDM, FDM, 1DM or ADM right away.
  4. If it fails later, get a fresh link and refresh the address so the download resumes.

FAQ

Can IDM download TeraBox videos?

Yes. Open the share link in a browser-based TeraBox downloader, then let IDM catch the Download button or paste the copied link into Add URL. Downloads can be resumed while the link is still valid.

Why does my download manager say the link expired?

TeraBox download addresses are temporary. Paste the original share link again to get a new one, then update the address in the manager.

Do I need a TeraBox account to use a download manager?

No. For public share links, no TeraBox account or login is required.

Does a download manager bypass TeraBox speed limits?

No. It makes downloads more reliable and resumable. Speed still depends on TeraBox's servers and your connection.
